The Lasell College women’s soccer team will be participating in the Paul St. Martin Charitable 5k Run/Walk on Sunday May 24th, 2009 at Weeks Field in Newton Centre to help raise funds for advanced research for heart disease.
The women’s soccer team had four athletes named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference’s All Conference teams this season. First year Meredith Hessler of Middletown, Rhode Island and junior Alaina Mitrano of Medford, Massachusetts made the First Team All Conference, while Elizabeth Stickley made Second Team All Conference and Jordynn Frollo made Third Team.
The Owls of Keene State College beat the Lasers 8-0 in the quarter finals of the 2008 ECAC DIII New England Women’s Soccer Championships on Wednesday, completing Lasell’s season at 10-6-2.
The Lasell College men's soccer team has been selected as the 7th seed in the 2008 ECAC Division III New England Men’s Soccer Championship. The Lasers will play the no. 2 seeded Curry College Colonel's, November 12th, at 4:00 p.m., on the Colonels home field.
For the first time in the women’s soccer program’s history, the Lasers have made it to the ECAC DIII New England Women’s Soccer Championships. The Lasers picked up the eight seed in the tournament, after a 10-5-2 season, under the direction of second year head coach, Vito LaFrancesca.

The 6th seeded Lasers finished their 2008 season in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference women’s soccer tournament’s quarter finals, with a 1-3 loss to 3rd seed Emmanuel College, on Sunday afternoon
Newton, Mass.- In an unbelievable finish, Kaitlyn Fields (Stoneham, MA) drilled a 35 yard shot and scored to give Lasell College a 3-2, double overtime win over Johnson & Wales University. Fields’ sudden death goal was scored with just 28 seconds left to play.
Newton, Mass.- Eight Lasell College athletes scored in women’s soccer action today on Taylor Field. The Lasers dictated the entire game against the Wildcats of Wheelock College, concluding the game at 8-0. Lasell is now 9-4-2 this season, while Wheelock drops to 3-12-1.
Lasell College nabbed a 1-0 win over Lesley University on Thursday evening. The Lasers only goal was scored by freshman defender Liz McGeoy (Doylestown, PA). This was McGeoy’s second game winning goal of the 2008 season, and third total goal.
Zach Gagne was named men’s soccer Player of the Week in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference for the second time this season. Also receiving honors from the GNAC this week was women’s soccer goalkeeper Jamie Remmers. Remmers (left) was honored as the Goalkeeper of the Week for the first time this season.
The Lasers came out to an early advantage against the Emerson College Lions on Tuesday, but were unable to hold onto the lead, as they dropped the GNAC game, 1-2.
Newton, Mass.- Lasell’s women’s soccer team was the victor today in a GNAC matchup with Suffolk University. The Lasers have not dropped a game in nearly a month of play, and now boast a 7-3-2 overall record, 6-2-2 in the conference.
The Lasell Lasers women’s soccer team produced another GNAC win Wednesday on Taylor Field against the Rivier College Raiders. The 2-0 win today brings the Lasers to 6-3-2 overall and 5-2-2 in conference play.
Lasell College shut out visiting GNAC rival Mount Ida College, 1-0, this afternoon in women’s soccer action. Lasell’s Allyson Bushey (Westminster, MA) scored the contests only goal, giving the hosts their fourth league win, and improving their overall record to 5-3-1.

Newton, Mass. - Elizabeth Stickley (Mashpee, MA) earned her first collegiate career shutout today at Taylor Field against the Falcons of Albertus Magnus College. The Lasers’ are now 3-2-0 in the GNAC, and 4-3-0 overall, after today’s 2-0 victory.
BOSTON, MA – Lasell College’s women’s soccer team handed Emmanuel its first regular season Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) loss in 17 games on Tuesday night at the Winsor School field. The Saints, who went unbeaten in conference play last year, carried a 13-game unbeaten streak into the 2008 season. Emmanuel tacked on three more GNAC wins this year, before falling to Lasell by a score of 3-2 in Tuesday night’s battle.
Two Lasers were honored this week by their respective conferences with the Rookie of the Week award. Jordynn Frollo was recognized by the GNAC for her outstanding performance on the women’s soccer team, and Christine Thornton was chosen as Co-Rookie of the Week in the NAC for field hockey.
A free kick from 35 yards out by Jordynn Frollo (Uxbridge, MA), finished with a diving header by Alyssa Ferreri (Southbury, CT) secured the win over Simmons College for the Lasers, on Saturday, in an exciting GNAC matchup.
NORTHFIELD, Vt. – The Lasell College women’s soccer team was defeated by GNAC foe Norwich University, 1-0, on Wednesday afternoon at Howard Field. The Cadets, who started the year by losing consecutive contests, now stand at 4-2 (2-0 GNAC). The Lasers, meanwhile, fall to 1-3 (0-2 GNAC).

Senior Katie Jordan (Sandwich, MA) scored the only goal of the contest in the 12th minute to help lead the hosting Saint Joseph's (1-2, 1-0 GNAC) past conference rival Lasell College (0-2, 0-1 GNAC) on Saturday afternoon. The Monks junior, goalkeeper Katye Mayo (Fairfield, ME) made five saves to earn her first shutout of the season.
Newton, Mass. – The Lasell College women’s soccer team opened up today on Taylor Field, playing the Cougars of the Coast Guard Academy. The teams were about equal in opportunities to score throughout the game, with Lasell taking 12 shots and Coast Guard attempting 13, however it was the Cougars that were victorious, taking the win, 2-1.
