• Women's Soccer to Run Paul St. Martin Charitable 5k Run/Walk

    The Lasell College women’s soccer team will be participating in the Paul St. Martin Charitable 5k Run/Walk on Sunday May 24th, 2009 at Weeks Field in Newton Centre to help raise funds for advanced research for heart disease.

    The women’s soccer team had four athletes named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference’s All Conference teams this season. First year Meredith Hessler of Middletown, Rhode Island and junior Alaina Mitrano of Medford, Massachusetts made the First Team All Conference, while Elizabeth Stickley made Second Team All Conference and Jordynn Frollo made Third Team.

    For the first time in the women’s soccer program’s history, the Lasers have made it to the ECAC DIII New England Women’s Soccer Championships. The Lasers picked up the eight seed in the tournament, after a 10-5-2 season, under the direction of second year head coach, Vito LaFrancesca.

    Newton, Mass.- In an unbelievable finish, Kaitlyn Fields (Stoneham, MA) drilled a 35 yard shot and scored to give Lasell College a 3-2, double overtime win over Johnson & Wales University. Fields’ sudden death goal was scored with just 28 seconds left to play.

    Newton, Mass.- Eight Lasell College athletes scored in women’s soccer action today on Taylor Field. The Lasers dictated the entire game against the Wildcats of Wheelock College, concluding the game at 8-0. Lasell is now 9-4-2 this season, while Wheelock drops to 3-12-1.

    BOSTON, MA – Lasell College’s women’s soccer team handed Emmanuel its first regular season Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) loss in 17 games on Tuesday night at the Winsor School field. The Saints, who went unbeaten in conference play last year, carried a 13-game unbeaten streak into the 2008 season. Emmanuel tacked on three more GNAC wins this year, before falling to Lasell by a score of 3-2 in Tuesday night’s battle.

    Senior Katie Jordan (Sandwich, MA) scored the only goal of the contest in the 12th minute to help lead the hosting Saint Joseph's (1-2, 1-0 GNAC) past conference rival Lasell College (0-2, 0-1 GNAC) on Saturday afternoon. The Monks junior, goalkeeper Katye Mayo (Fairfield, ME) made five saves to earn her first shutout of the season.

    Newton, Mass. – The Lasell College women’s soccer team opened up today on Taylor Field, playing the Cougars of the Coast Guard Academy. The teams were about equal in opportunities to score throughout the game, with Lasell taking 12 shots and Coast Guard attempting 13, however it was the Cougars that were victorious, taking the win, 2-1.
