LATE GOAL PROPELS NORWICH PAST LASELL, 1-0

NORTHFIELD, Vt. - The Lasell College women's soccer team was defeated by GNAC foe Norwich University, 1-0, on Wednesday afternoon at Howard Field.  The Cadets, who started the year by losing consecutive contests, now stand at 4-2 (2-0 GNAC). The Lasers, meanwhile, fall to 1-3 (0-2 GNAC).

The teams stayed even through the first half, each team remaining scoreless.  The Cadets outshot the Lasers, 13-6, but Lasell held a 7-3 edge on corner kicks. Allyson Bushey (Westminster, MA), Jessica Taylor (Standish, ME), and Olivia Tsakiris (Grosvenordale, CT) continued to generate shots for the Lasers, coming up with 4 of Lasell's 6 attempts, but were unable to capitalize.

The lone goal of the game was netted by junior Becky Scully who took a feed from Sarah Reuschel with just 7:37 to play in the second half, to help Norwich win its second straight 1-0 decision.

In upcoming action for Lasell, the women's soccer team will take on fellow GNAC opponent Simmons College, at the Sharks home field, on Saturday, September 20th.
