The Owls of Keene State College beat the Lasers 8-0 in the quarter finals of the 2008 ECAC DIII New England Women's Soccer Championships on Wednesday, completing Lasell's season at 10-6-2.

The Owls were seeded no. 1 in the ECAC tournament after a 15-7 season, making their ninth trip to the Championships. This was the Lasell College women's soccer team's first appearance in the ECAC tournament in the programs history.  The Lasers picked up the eight seed in the tournament, after a 10-5-2 season, and dropping only one game in their final 12 regular season contests, under the direction of second year head coach, Vito LaFrancesca.

The Owls came out to a 3-0 lead before the half.  Michelle Boland (Worcester, MA), a 2008 Little East All Conference selection at the forward position, scored twice, and Nora Money (Belchertown, MA) dropped in the third goal. Lasell's starting goalkeeper, Jamie Remmers (West Islip, NY) finished the first half with 8 saves in net.

The Owls remained in control in the second half, scoring 5 additional times.  Lasell's freshman GNAC All-Conference honoree Jordynn Frollo (Uxbridge, MA) was predominant for the Lasers offensively but was not successful at putting points on the board.  Elizabeth Stickley (Mashpee, MA) picked up 5 saves in goal in the second half.  Stickley finished the year with 89 saves in goal, and was also honored by the GNAC as an All Conference player.

The Owls move on to the ECAC Semi-Finals this weekend, while the Lasers complete their 2008 season.
