LASERS DOMINATE THE WILDCATS

Newton, Mass.- Eight Lasell College athletes scored in women's soccer action today on Taylor Field.  The Lasers dictated the entire game against the Wildcats of Wheelock College, concluding the game at 8-0.  Lasell is now 9-4-2 this season, while Wheelock drops to 3-12-1.

 

In the opening minutes of the game, Alyssa Ferreri (Southbury, CT) took control of a loose ball and fired in Lasell's first goal.  Ten minutes later, Molly Clarke (Kinsington,CT) sent Olivia Tsakiris (Grosvenordale, CT) down field with a pass that opened Tsakiris up to drive a long shot which sailed high over Wheelock's goalkeeper, Victoria Fernandes (Randolph, MA). 

 

Pulling in the final goal of the half was Meredith Hessler (Middletown, RI) who headed in the ball into the short left corner of the net off a corner kick by Alaina Mitrano (Medford, MA).

 

The Lasers scored five more times in the second half, started by Liz McGeoy (Doylestown, PA) who connected on a long pass from Allyson Bushey (Westminster, MA), at 48:40.  That play then reversed for McGeoy feeding Bushey for the fifth goal of the game, at 55:30.

 

Clarke scored from right inside the 18 yard box in the 64th minute, followed by Kaitlyn Fields (Stoneham, MA) and Margaret Carvalho (Swansea, MA), both unassisted.

 

Lindsey Lacourse (Scarborough, ME) played aggressive for the Wildcats, and had their only attempts on goal.

 

Lasell picks up conference play on Monday, October 27th at 3:30 when they take on the Wildcats of Johnson and Wales University, on Taylor Field.
