Men's & Women's Soccer to Host GNAC Tournament this Weekend
October 30, 2009Newton, Mass.-- The Lasell College men's and women's soccer teams will both host the first round of the 2009 GNAC post-season tournament on Taylor Field this weekend. The men will face Mount Ida on Saturday, October 31st at 1:00 p.m. and the women will host St. Joseph College (Conn.) on Sunday, November 1st at 1:00 p.m.

Lasell Women’s Soccer Picks Up 4-0 Decision Against Johnson & Wales
October 30, 2009East Providence, RI—Sophomore striker Jessica Taylor (Standish, ME) notched a hat-trick with three unassisted goals, leading Lasell to a 4-0 win against Johnson & Wales University in a GNAC women’s soccer contest on Thursday evening. The win assured the Lasers a home contest and a third place seeding in the quarterfinals for the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Tournament.

Clarke Tallies Game Winner Over Local Rivals
October 24, 2009Newton, Mass.—The Lasell College women’s soccer team upended neighboring rivals and GNAC foe Mount Ida College 1-0 on the Mustang’s senior day this past Saturday. The Lasers currently stand in fifth place in the conference standings with just one regular season GNAC contest left to go before the post-season tournament. Lasell’s record stands at 8-4-2 overall, and 7-2-2 in league play.

Lasers Shoot Down Gators
October 22, 2009Chestnut Hill, Mass.— Two quick goals allowed the Lasers of Lasell College to upend the Gators of Pine Manor College, 4-1, in GNAC play on Thursday afternoon at Hedley Field. Five Lasers scored points in the contest, preventing the Gators from earning their first conference win. Lasell’s triumph gave them their seventh league win, leaving them at 10-6-2 overall this season.

Lasell Blasts Past Rivier
October 20, 2009Nashua, NH—Lasell College handed Rivier College a 5-0 loss on Tuesday evening, with four Lasers scoring goals. Junior Kaitlyn Fields (Stoneham, Mass.) scored twice in the shutout as the Lasers improve their record to 6-4-2 overall, 5-2-2 in the GNAC.

Norwich Scores Early en route to 4-0 Victory Over Lasell
October 17, 2009Newton, Mass.— Norwich College defeated the Lasell College Lasers, 4-0, in women’s soccer Great Northeast Athletic Conference action today, on Grellier Field. The Cadets scored early and cushioned their advantage with three helpers to bump up their overall record to 7-7-1 overall, and 4-5-1 in the GNAC. Lasell’s slate now stands at 5-4-2 overall, and 4-2-2 in the league.

GNAC Weekly Honors Released

Elizabeth Stickley (Mashpee, Mass.) and Matthew Scully (Watertown, Conn.) were selected for the second week in a row as Goalkeeper and Rookie of the Week respectively, while Meghan Crozier (Ballston Spa, NY) and Christina Annicelli (North Easton, Mass.) were chosen as women's volleyball Player of the Week and cross country Rookie of the Week respectively.

Monks Break Lasell’s Unbeaten GNAC Run

The Monks remain at the top of the GNAC standings at 7-0-1 in the league (7-3-1 overall) while the Lasers suffer their first loss and drop to 4-1-2 in the conference and 5-3-2 overall.
