Newton, Mass.— The number three seeded Lasell College women’s soccer team fell to number six ranked Saint Joseph College of Connecticut today, 1-0, in the quarter final round of the GNAC Championship Tournament.
Newton, Mass.-- The Lasell College men's and women's soccer teams will both host the first round of the 2009 GNAC post-season tournament on Taylor Field this weekend. The men will face Mount Ida on Saturday, October 31st at 1:00 p.m. and the women will host St. Joseph College (Conn.) on Sunday, November 1st at 1:00 p.m.
East Providence, RI—Sophomore striker Jessica Taylor (Standish, ME) notched a hat-trick with three unassisted goals, leading Lasell to a 4-0 win against Johnson & Wales University in a GNAC women’s soccer contest on Thursday evening. The win assured the Lasers a home contest and a third place seeding in the quarterfinals for the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Tournament.
Providence, RI— Rhode Island College women’s soccer team defeated Lasell College, 1-0, on Tuesday night. The lone goal of the evening was scored by senior midfielder Christina Tavana (Middletown, Conn.) who was celebrating her senior night at the event.

The Lasers currently stand in fifth place in the conference standings with just one regular season GNAC contest left to go before the post-season tournament. Somerville, Mass.—Lasell’s Liz McGeoy (Doylestown, PA) scored twenty-eight seconds into the first overtime to secure a 1-0 win over Suffolk University on a rainy Saturday evening, at Dilboy Stadium. The win is the first conference win in the 2009 season for the Lasers, who improve to 2-1-0 overall (1-0 GNAC).
New London, Conn.- In her collegiate debut, first year athlete Reegan Brackett (Scarborough, ME) scored the first goal of the season as the Lasell College women’s soccer team took home a 2-1 non-conference victory over Coast Guard Academy on Saturday afternoon.
The Lasell College women's soccer program held the first annual Lasell College Lasers Girls Soccer Clinic during the week of August 18th-20th on Taylor Field at the Newton, Massachusetts campus. The clinic was run by the Lasers head women's soccer coach Vito LaFrancesca and assistant coach Jim Swift.
