    NORTHFIELD, VT— After 106:51 minutes of action between Norwich University and Lasell College in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men’s Soccer Tournament Quarter Finals, the Cadets triumphed, 3-2, with a golden goal scored with just three minutes left in double overtime. The come from behind victory was claimed in dramatic fashion by Norwich on Howard Field to secure a spot in the semi finals on Thursday.

    NEW HAVEN, CT-- The Albertus Magnus Falcons soared past Lasell College men’s soccer, 6-0, on Saturday in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play. With the win, Albertus improves to 14-2-1 on the year, as well as a perfect 10-0 in the conference to earn the regular season GNAC title. In the defeat, Lasell drops to 5th in the conference at 9-4-3 overall and 5-3-2 in GNAC action.

The win bumps Lasell’s record to 8-3-3 with a 4-2-2 conference slate while the Monks slip to 9-5 and 5-3 in GNAC play.

    NEWTON, MA- Adam Luciano (Fairfield, CT) scored with under ten minutes left in regulation to lift Lasell College men’s soccer over Rhode Island College, 4-3, on Wednesday night at Taylor Field. The contest featured four lead changes and three ties before Luciano’s game-winner, at 81:28. The victory broke up Lasell’s five game slide (0-3-2) and improved their record to 7-3-3. Rhode Island’s record stands at 7-6 this year.

    NEWTON, MA- On first date of competition of the 2011 Lasell College men’s soccer season, the Lasers hosted the 2nd Annual Kick Off Classic on Taylor Field in front of a crowd of 300. In an outstanding Laser showing, Lasell walloped Wheelock College, 16-0, in the first game of the day, breaking the institutional team record for most goals scored in a game, while Potsdam State defeated Baruch College in the second contest by a score of 4-3. Lasell and Potsdam will face off in the Championship game tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. while Wheelock and Baruch will fight for 3rd place in the consolation game of the tournament, set to begin at noon.
