Falcons Soar Past Lasers

NEW HAVEN, CT--  The Albertus Magnus Falcons soared past Lasell College men's soccer, 6-0, on Saturday in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play.  With the win, Albertus improves to 14-2-1 on the year, as well as a perfect 10-0 in the conference to earn the regular season GNAC title.  In the defeat, Lasell drops to 5th in the conference at 9-4-3 overall and 5-3-2 in GNAC action.

Jamal Howard (West Haven, CT) tallied a hat trick en route to the Falcons final regular season win while Steven Zapata (Hamden, CT) recorded one goal and distributed three helpers.  The hosts also saw the ball reach the twine off the foot of Dan Dwyer (Hamden,CT) and Nick Hamasian (Hamden, CT). 

Albertus' goalkeeper Donato Piroscafo (Naugatuck, CT) made four saves in his seventh shutout of the season.  Two of Lasell's four chances on net came from Mike Skelton (Conway, NH) while Isaac Soares (Somerset, MA) and Evan Gaccione (Westerly, RI) each attempted one.

Laser goalie Aren Moorman (Somerset, NJ) took the loss playing the first half and making one stop.  Alex Serrazina (Ludlow, MA) stepped in for the second half of play, making four stops and allowing one goal. 

The Lasers will conclude regular season play on Monday, October 24th at Brandeis University in non-conference play at 7:00 p.m.
