Boston, MA – The men's volleyball team delivered a dominant performance, sweeping Emerson College 3-0 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action. The match ended with set scores of 25-16, 25-22, and 25-20, improving Lasell's record to 11-3 overall and 2-0 in conference play.
The Lasers were led by standout performances from Theo Zaharewicz, who registered 13 kills and 15 total points in the match, hitting an impressive .440 on 25 attempts. Zaharewicz's offensive explosion helped the team maintain control throughout the match, as they closed out each set with a strong finish.
Cody Bonilla continued to shine tallying 16 assists and contributing defensively with three digs. Cole Esterline and Peyton Walter each added key contributions, with Esterline totaling four kills and two blocks, while Walter chipped in with four kills. The Lasell defense also had a strong showing, with Benjamin Walinjom and Nathaniel Cobuzzi both contributing solid blocks. The team combined for a total of two blocks and 32 digs, limiting Emerson's attack to just a .075 hitting percentage.
Emerson College, now 0-6 overall and 0-2 in the GNAC, struggled offensively throughout the match. Despite Chase Fagen leading the way with 11 kills and 7 digs, the Lions could not overcome Lasell's strong defense and efficient offense.
