Newton, MA – Lasell University suffered a tough 19-6 loss to Farmingdale State College. Despite a strong start and efforts from several key players, the Lasers were unable to overcome a powerful and relentless offensive attack from the Rams.
The game began with an exciting back-and-forth in the first quarter, as Lasell held a brief 3-2 lead before Farmingdale State surged ahead. Lasell's offense was sparked by Will McCarthy, who contributed two goals in the first quarter, and Jack Condon, who added a goal to tie things up at 3-3. However, the Rams responded with seven unanswered goals in the second quarter, building a commanding 10-3 lead by halftime.
Lasell's offense struggled to keep pace after the break as Farmingdale State continued to dominate both offensively and defensively. The Rams' offensive unit, led by Adam Giovinco, who scored four goals and tallied two assists, and Kamryn Gill, who registered three goals and two assists, proved to be too much for the Lasers' defense to handle.
The Lasers did see solid contributions from Jason Martin and Sam Guilmette, each of whom added a goal in the second half, but it wasn't enough to close the gap. Ryan Stone and Will McCarthy also each recorded an assist in the loss.
In goal, Michael Catalano (1-3) made 16 saves for Lasell but allowed 19 goals.
Up Next: The Lasers will be on their own turf this coming Saturday for a much anticipated matchup against GNAC opponent Johnson & Wales.
