Three Lasell College softball players were selected to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) All-Conference teams for the 2010 season. Ashley Laramie (Lynn, MA) a junior infielder was chosen to the second team, while senior infielder Kelly Barden (Quincy, MA) and freshman outfielder Rachelle Haas (Middleton, MA) were selected to the third team.
NEWTON, MA-- The Lasell College softball team suffered a season ending loss, 8-1, in the first round of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference post season tournament to Norwich University on Wednesday afternoon at Taylor Field. The Lasers, whom were the fifth seed in the tournament, fell to the eighth seeded Cadets, after just previously defeating them twice on Monday in a GNAC doubleheader at Norwich. Lasell finishes their season with a 19-20-1 record, while Norwich advances to the quarter finals of the tournament with a 13-22 record.
Northfield, VT-- Lasell College softball picked up two wins during their final regular season contests on Monday afternoon, defeating Norwich University 8-5 in game one, and 10-2 in game two.
Kirsten Mammola (North Reading, MA) went 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBI, while also picking up the win on the mound, 9-5, in game two of a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) twin bill at Mount Ida College on Saturday. The Lasell College womens softball team split the crucial GNAC doubleheader College dropping game one 11-3 on a rainy and raw game day. The Mustangs improve to 16-17, 9-13 in league play while The Lasers inch closer to a playoff bid standing at 17-19, 13-9 in the GNAC.
NEWTON, MASeven home runs, including one grand slam, were scored today at Taylor Field in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference softball doubleheader between St. Josephs College of Maine and hosting Lasell College. The Monks came out on top in both games, 10-6 and 12-2, and were led by the Emily Leverone (Hampton, NH) who went 6-for-8 on the day with three home runs, eight RBI, and five runs. Senior Kelly Barden (Quincy, MA) had two solo blasts for Lasell in the second game, going 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.

In the nightcap, Ashley Laramie (Lynn, MA) mimicked the earlier play, knocking in the game-winning run in the seventh, for a 5-4 walk-off victory, just as the game was about to be called due to darkness.
Newton, MA-- The Lasell College Lasers downed the Johnson & Wales University Wildcats twice in just five innings of Great Northeast Athletic Conference softball action on Taylor Field, 10-2 and 8-0, on Monday afternoon.
West Haven, CT- Freshman pitcher Alison Saluti (Braintree, MA) pitched a perfect game in an 11-0 shutout of Albertus Magnus on Sunday afternoon. Saluti struck out six Falcons on the way to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference victory. Kirsten Mammola (Reading, MA) closed a three-hitter in the second game, 12-0, to sweep the GNAC doubleheader.
West Hartford, CT-- Lasell College softball won the opener of a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) doubleheader with Saint Joseph College of Connecticut, 2-1, before dropping the subsequent game, 4-1, on Saturday afternoon.
CAMBRIDGE, MA Lesley University claimed an 8-0 defeat of the Lasell College softball team in five innings on Thursday afternoon in the Lynx home opener at Buckingham Field. Lesleys Cassandra Knox (Sea Cliff, NY) pitched a three-hit shutout with nine strikeouts as the Lynx improve to 8-6 this season (2-0 NECC). Talia DeChiara (Kingston, MA) led the Lasers with a 2-for-2 day at the plate. Lasell drops to 9-15-1 (5-5 GNAC) after the non-conference loss.

FORT MYERS, FL- The Lasell College softball team secured their first win of the 2010 season on Monday with a 7-6 victory over Hamilton College at the Lee County Sports Complex in Fort Myers, Florida. Earlier the same day, the Lasers dropped a heartbreaker to Polytechnic Institute of New York University, 5-4, in eight innings. The Lasers are now 1-3 this season.

Last Years GNAC Champion, Emerson College, has been chosen as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Softball preseason favorite in a vote conducted by GNAC coaches.
The Lasell softball team will look to continue with their winning ways in 2010. The Lasers are coming off a successful year where they posted a 21-19 overall record while going 14-10 in the GNAC. The Lasers finished the 2009 season in the first round of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Tournament against Rivier College.
