NEWTON, MA- The Lasell College Athletic Department is pleased to announce the hiring of James Martin as the new Head Mens and Womens Cross Country Coach. Coach Martin takes over the reins from eight year head coach Larry Sullivan, who stepped down from the position in March.
Cumberland, ME For the second consecutive year, the Williams College mens cross country team finished first at the NCAA Division III New England Regional Championship, earning the Ephs their second straight automatic berth into the NCAA Division III National Championship race.
Nashua, NHThe Lasell College mens cross country team competed in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championship meet on Saturday, October 31st, finishing in 5th place overall in the league. Johnson & Wales University was the top team, finishing with just 17 points, while second place was a tie between Norwich University and Emerson College, earning 80 points apiece.
Newton, Mass.For the week ending October 18th, two Lasell College athletes earned weekly Honors by their respective conferences. Tia Pratt (S. Paris, ME) was recognized as the North Atlantic Conference Player of the Week and for the third straight week Matthew Scully (Watertown, Conn.) was selected as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference mens cross country Rookie of the Week.
Boston, Mass.- Matthew Scully (Watertown, Conn.) led the Lasell College mens cross country team to a seventh place finish at the 2009 Saints Invitational hosted by Emmanuel College at Franklin Park. Scully completed the 8000 meter run in 28 minutes 18.05 seconds, good for 34th place overall in the meet.
Newton, Mass.- Four Lasell athletes were honored by the GNAC with weekly awards. Elizabeth Stickley (Mashpee, Mass.) and Matthew Scully (Watertown, Conn.) were selected for the second week in a row as Goalkeeper and Rookie of the Week respectively, while Meghan Crozier (Ballston Spa, NY) and Christina Annicelli (North Easton, Mass.) were chosen as women's volleyball Player of the Week and cross country Rookie of the Week respectively.
Standish, ME- Matthew Scully (Watertown, Conn.) led the Lasell College mens cross country team to a 5th place finish at the Runnin Monks Invitational, hosted by St. Josephs College of Maine, on Saturday afternoon. The freshman was awarded Rookie of the Week honors for the second consecutive week by the GNAC for his performance in the race.

Nashua, NHThe Lasell College mens cross country team placed 2nd out of ten teams at the 2009 Raiders Invitational, put on by Rivier College in Nashua, New Hampshire on Friday. Freshman phenom Matthew Scully (Watertown, Conn.) led the way for Lasell once again with an eighth place finish, while senior Zach Lambert (Marlborough, Mass.) completed the 8K in 11th place overall.
Bristol, RIFreshman standout Matthew Scully (Watertown, Conn.) placed 14th overall and first for Lasell at the Roger Williams University Invitational held at Colt State Park this weekend. Scully finished the 5K course in just 17:11.90, helping the Lasers to a fifth place finish at the meet.
Cambridge, Mass.- The Lasell College mens cross country team took eight out of the top ten finishes in the Presidents Cup 2009 Dual Meet between the Lasers and Lesley University, running away with their first victory of the 2009 season. The Lasers won 15-50 over the Lynx.
Newton, Mass.- The Lasell College men's and women's cross country teams cleaned up in 3 of the 4 GNAC weekly awards this week. Senior Zach Lambert was awarded Runner of the Week while Christina Annicelli and Matt Scully were named Rookie of the Week.
