• Lasell's Yepez Selected to Participate in the NEILA East West All-Star Game

    The New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association announced the rosters for the 2010 NEILA Turfer East/West All-Star Game. Brian Yepez (Hillsborough, NJ) a senior attackman on the Lasell College men's lacrosse team has been selected to participate as one of five attackmen on the East team. The game will be played at 4:00 pm at Emerson College on Sunday, June 6.

    The Lasell College men's lacrosse team had five athletes honored on the 2010 Pilgrim League All-Conference teams which were released on Monday, May 10th. Junior midfielder Chris Bulkley (Groton, CT) was selected to the first team while senior attackman Brian Yepez (Hillsborough, NJ), freshman defenseman Matthew Keiler (Salem, MA), and junior defensemen Anthony Erz (Hampton, NJ) and Rob Suh (Colchester, CT) were awarded second team accolades.

    NEWTON, MA-- The Lasell College Lasers outscored Norwich University 8-2 in the first half, on their way to a 13-5 win in Pilgrim League men’s lacrosse action on Grellier Field this afternoon. The victory marks the fourth of the season for the Lasers, whom end the day with a 4-10 overall mark, and even out to 3-3 in the conference. Norwich holds an 8-6 record this season, and a 1-4 Pilgrim slate.

    NORTON, MA- Lasell’s senior attackman Brian Yepez (Hillsborough, NJ) netted five goals and unloaded three assists to spearhead a 12-10 Pilgrim League men’s lacrosse victory over hosting Wheaton College on Wednesday at Mirrione Stadium. The neck-in-neck contest never allowed for more than a three-goal lead at any point, and gave way to five ties over 46 minutes and 39 seconds before the Lasers scored three-of-four final goals to produce the final outcome.

    Plymouth, NH-- Lasell College men's lacrosse battled back from a 4-1 halftime deficit to force overtime with two unanswered goals in the third quarter and the only score of the fourth period, before enduring a 5-4 overtime loss to Plymouth State University. The Lasers knotted the score at 4-4 with 3:06 remaining in regulation on an extra-man goal by sophomore Jon Elia (East Lyme, Conn.) The overtime loss dropped Lasell to 2-9 overall.

    The Lasers are coming off a disappointing campaign in 2009. The team finished the season 5-10 and missed the Pilgrim League playoffs for the first time in three years. The team hopes to regain their form from 2008, when they finished the season 10-7 and made the championship game in the ECAC Tournament against Endicott College.
