Men's Lacrosse Downs Rivier 21-1

Nashua, NH-- Eighteen Lasell College Lasers scored points on Tuesday night en route to a 21-1 men's lacrosse blow out of Rivier College on Raider Field. Lasell set the tone early, netting seven goals in the first quarter and taking a 10-0 lead into halftime.  The win improves the Lasers' record to 5-10 this season.

 

Lasell held a dramatic 54-2 advantage in shots over the Raiders, as well as stealing a 64-21 edge in ground balls and winning 14-of-22 face-offs throughout the contest.  The Raiders also were guilty of more than double the amount of turnovers that the Lasers committed (29-13). 

 

Lasell’s goalkeeper Tyler Silliman (Windsor, CT) was untested throughout the first period, with not one shot attempt by the Raiders.  Silliman was awarded the win in Lasell’s net at the conclusion of the contest. 

 

Jon Elia (East Lyme, CT) was the top point scorer of the game, scoring once and handing out three assists to his teammates.  Chris Bulkey (Groton, CT) lodged three points, scoring two goals, including the game winner, and adding an assist.  Zach Wielgoszinki (Amherst, NH), Keith Berliner (Oakland, NJ), and William Wood (Brewster, NY) also made their mark with three points each.  The points were the first of the season for Berliner, and the first of Wood’s collegiate career.

 

All told, seven Lasers scored their first points of the season in the contest.  Hyun Soo Lim (Concord, NH) and Austin Mishaw (Wilmington, DE) tallied two goals each, while Gianni Nicolosi (Beverly Hills, CA) notched two points, scoring one goal and dishing one assist.  Also recording their first marks of the season were Tyler Supper (Rocky Point, NY) and Ladson Shaello-Johnson (Binghampton, NY), both on goals.

 

Shaello-Johnson also picked up a team-best six ground balls and went 5-for-9 in face-off action.  Atticus Robert (Concord, NH) won 4-of-7 face-off chances and Anthony Erz (Hampton, NJ) triumphed on 5-of-6 attempts.

 

Lasell will host Massachusetts Maritime for their final game of the season on May 1st at 1:00 p.m.  The game will also be Senior Day for Brian Yepez (Hillsborough, NJ), Matt Haversat (Monroe, CT), and Owen McDonaugh (Newton, MA).
