Newton, MA – The Lasell University women's volleyball team has achieved a historic milestone, becoming regionally ranked for the first time in program history. As of October 30, the team is positioned sixth in Region I, reflecting their outstanding performance throughout the season. In addition, they lead the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) with a flawless 10-0 record.
This achievement follows their remarkable performance last season, where they claimed the program's first Conference Championship and finished with an overall record of 27-5.
"Achieving our first regional ranking in program history is a special feeling. These athletes have worked extremely hard over the past few years to get where we are now and it is great to see that our hard work is paying off! I look forward to seeing what else we can achieve this season if we continue to work hard and build our team chemistry!" said Head Coach Jeff Vautrin. Vautrin has transformed the program since taking over in 2021. Since then, both programs have had full rosters, winning records, and set over 10 new program records for each program.
Building on last season's success, the Lasers have continued to excel this season with an impressive overall record of 22-5. They have accumulated a total of 1,124 kills, 1048 assists, and 1323 digs. contributing to their impressive overall record of 22-5.
The Lasers will look to maintain their momentum as they head into their next match this Saturday, November 2nd in a GNAC Tri-Match against Norwich University and Dean College.
