WSOC: Lasers Cruise past Raiders on Senior Day

Newton, MA - The Lasell Lasers defeated the Rivier Raiders on senior day by a score of 2-0. With the win the Lasers improve to 9-4-2 and 8-2-2 in GNAC play, while the Raiders fall to 8-4-3 and 7-3-2 in GNAC play. The win moves the Lasers into a tie with USJ for third in the GNAC.

The Lasers wasted no time getting on the board with Caroline St. Croix netted one from 35 yards out from Bobbi O'Guin's pass in the 10th minute. The Raiders had a corner kick and shots on goals but could not convert.

The Lasers kept the energy high in the second half as Michelina D'Agostino doubled the Lasers lead in the 52nd minute. Riley Silvia was in net for the Lasers completing the shutout with 4 saves. It was Silvia's 10th career game, and the seventh time she has been a part of a Lasell shutout.

Overall, the Lasers controlled play, outshooting the Raiders 13-6, and earning eight corner kicks to Rivier's three.

The Lasers honored their three seniors: Riley Silvia, Evelyn DiFiore, and Sophie Lewis for all their contributions to the program.
