WBB: Lasers Unable to Keep Up With Bantams

Newton, MA - The Lasell Lasers fell to the Trinity Bantams on Wednesday night by a final score of 68-51. The loss drops the Lasers to 2-6 on the season, while Trinity is now 8-1.

The Lasers played the Bantams, who received votes in the latest rankings, tough in the first half. After the Bantams got out to an early 11-4 lead, the Lasers fought back throughout the quarter, and were able to tie the game up on a three pointer by Shirle Major with five second left in the quarter.

The Lasers then went on a 6-0 run to start the second, giving them their largest lead of the game. The Bantams would then go on a 13-4 run to take the lead back. They would hold a 37-32 lead at halftime.

The difference in the game was the third quarter, as the Bantams would start the quarter on a 10-0 run. Trinity would outscore Lasell 16-4 overall in the quarter. The two teams would then go to the fourth where they traded baskets, ultimately tying the quarter 15-15.

It was a three headed attack for the Lasers as Juju Nealy and Jasmine DePina each scored 14 points, while Shirle Major scored 12 off the bench. DePina also had four steals.
