An inning later the Vikings increased their advantage first on an RBI single to left field by DeSantis to score Walker. Senior Gracie Hogan (Blackstone, Mass.) made it a two-run inning for Salem State as she brought home Eisnor with a sacrifice fly to right.

The fourth inning saw the Vikings take back the four-run advantage they had after the first inning on a sacrifice fly to right brought home junior Abigail Johnson (Meredith, N.H.). The run for the Vikings would be the end of the scoring as both pitchers held each other scoreless the rest of the way as Salem State took an 7-4 victory.

Hogan got the win on the mound for the Vikings going the distance allowing 10 hits and three runs. DeSantis led the way with the bats as she went two for three with three RBIs and a run scored. Gendreau had two hits and two stolen bases and Theall added an RBI at the plate to go along with her pitching.

"The first game our bats were hot, we played good defense and our heads were in it the entire time" said head coach Sarah Woodside. "Unfortunately, the second game we underestimated the fire Salem State would have and we did not play the way we know how. We will learn from our mistakes and come prepared for JWU on Saturday"

The Lasers will be back in action on Saturday, April 2, when they play host to Johnson & Wales University in the first Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) games for Lasell. First pitch is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. at Taylor Field.
