
Newton, MA- First-years Trystan Maloney and Benjamin Walinjom were both recognized in the GNAC weekly awards after a 1-1 week for the Lasers. Maloney has now racked up four weekly awards on his smashing rookie season, while Walinjom collects his third.
Maloney added to his league-leading (9.35 assists per set) as the Colorado Springs, Colorado native put up a total of 97 assists across two matches, averaging 10.78 assists per set. Maloney put up 42 assists in a four-set victory over Endicott before collecting a career-high 55 assists in a five-set match against Emmanuel.
Walinjom had a solid two match week for the Lasers as the North Quincy, Mass. native collected 25 total kills, averaging 2.78 kills per set while collecting seven total blocks (0.78 blocks per set). To start the week, Walinjom had ten kills, four digs, and six blocks in a non-conference win over Endicott before totaling 15 kills on .407% in five sets against Emmanuel.
