NEWTON, MA – The Lasell Lasers fell to the Nichols Bison in four sets on Thursday night, 25-22, 25-21, 15-25, and 25-20. The Lasers fall to 5-5 on the season, as Nichols improves to 11-1.

The Lasers were missing a key piece to their squad in Jordan Shinaut tonight and faced off against a good Nichols team. Despite dropping the first two sets the Lasers were competitive and both and bounced back, winning the third in commanding fashion by a 25-15 score

The comeback for the Lasers fell short however as they dropped the final set in a close one 25-20.

Junior Theo Zaharewicz led the Lasers in kills with 19 and graduate student Brendan Joyce followed him with nine. Playing out of position due to injuries, Jan Baranowski had six kills. Jesus Garcia continued his climb towards 3,000 career set assists, adding 31 to his total to bring him to 2,889. Garcia also had eight digs, second on the team behind only Ryan Fuller who had 15. Carter Phillips had five total blocks.

Next Up: The Lasers travel to conference foe Wentworth on Wednesday, February 14th for a match at 7:00 PM.
