Newton, MA - The Lasell Men's Volleyball team started their season of with a win, defeating the Elms Blazers in straight sets by a score of 25-14, 25-23, 25-19. 

The Lasers started off strong, and never really looked back. They scored in bunches in the first set, scoring four and five points in a row at different times of the set. While the second set was much closer, the Lasers still won it 25-23, punctuating it with a Dexter Thomas kill to take the set. The third set was no different, as the Lasers took it 25-19.

Jesus Garcia had 13 set assists, taking him over the 2,600 mark for his career. Cody Bonilla also had 13 set assists, this being his first career match. Dexter Thomas led the team with 10 kills, but eight different Lasers recorded at least two kills in the match. Garcia was also the digs leader for the team with six.

Up Next - The Lasers will to New York to play in the St. John Fisher Tournament, beginning with two matches on Friday against SUNY Poly and Nazareth.
