NEWTON, Mass. – A freshman on the Lasell University men's volleyball program was selected as the Rookie of the Week by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) for this performance this past week on the court.

Jesus Garcia (Honolulu, Hawaii) was chosen by the GNAC as the Rookie of the Week after leading his team to a 2-1 week.

Garcia totaled 101 assists in the Lasers three matches this past week. He averaged 10.10 assists/set over the three-game span while the Lasers went 2-1. Garcia also finished with 13 total digs and six total blocks. In Lasell's upset over Elms College, Garcia racked up 47 assists.

This is Garcia's second Rookie of the Week honor in just five weeks of play.

The Lasers will play next on Wednesday, February 19 against Nichols College in a non-conference match.
