Davis, Aprea Earn Fourth GNAC Men's Volleyball Weekly Honors

NEWTON, Mass. (3/28/17) – Senior Tristan Davis (Rochester, N.Y.) and sophomore libero Jordan Aprea (Newington, Conn.) earned their fourth Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly honors, as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

The duo led the Lasers to a 4-0 week, highlighted by a five-set thrilling victory over the No. 6 Leopards of Wentworth Institute of Technology. Lasell currently sits at No. 12 in the ACVA Division III Top 15 poll.

Davis, named GNAC offensive player of the week, swung into 44 kills and 12 services aces as Lasell's offensive catalyst, averaging 3.38 kills per set. In the two crucial GNAC victories against WIT and Rivier – who are also receiving votes at the national level – Davis registered 12 and 15 kills, respectively, and hit .278 combined for the week.

Aprea held down the defense in Lasell's untouched performance, and averaged 3.40 digs per set for 51 total. In a defensive battle against the Leopards, Aprea hit the floor for 19 digs, a game high between both ranked teams.

Lasell wastes little time getting back into the GNAC swing, as they head across Boston tonight to face Emmanuel College at 7:00 p.m. The Lasers will continue their four-game road stint on Thursday at Emerson, before closing out on Saturday with a tri-match featuring Wentworth and Albertus in New Haven, Conn.
