NEWTON, Mass. (2/6/17) -- Lasell College sophomore Jordan Aprea was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) men's volleyball Defensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday afternoon.

The sophomore from Newington, Conn. averaged 2.25 digs per set as the Lasers finished 3-1 over four matches on the week, including a three-set sweep of nationally-ranked (10) Stevenson.

Aprea totaled 27 digs in that span, recording two double-digit efforts with ten against the Mustangs and 11 against Ramapo. He has posted four 10-plus dig efforts on the season and also swung through his first kill in a three-set victory against Staten Island this weekend.

Aprea and the Lasers are 9-1 on the season and are receiving votes in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Men's Coaches Top 15 Poll. Lasell opens its GNAC schedule against Johnson & Wales University on Wednesday, February 8 at 7 p.m. inside the Athletic Center.
