Lasers Earn Third Slot in First Edition of NCAA Men's Volleyball Rankings

WINTHROP, Mass. – Three Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) schools have been ranked in the first edition of the NCAA Division III Men's Volleyball East Regional Rankings, as announced on Thursday afternoon.

Defending GNAC champion Lasell College (13-11, 9-1 GNAC) was ranked third, followed by Wentworth Institute of Technology (16-8, 8-2 GNAC) in the fourth spot and Rivier University (15-9, 5-3 GNAC) ranked fifth. Springfield and Kean took the top two spots in the regional rankings. 

Lasell opened up GNAC play with nine straight victories before falling at Rivier, 3-0, this past Wednesday. The Lasers also topped Wentworth on the road back on February 9 and will host the Leopards next Thursday, March 31. Meanwhile, Wentworth has defeated Rivier twice head-to-head this season, but fell to Emmanuel College on the road in league play on St. Patrick's Day.

The GNAC regular season will conclude on Saturday, April 2, with the top two seeds receiveing byes into the GNAC Semifinals. First-round action will take place on Tuesday, April 5.
