
NEWTON, Mass. (5/5/15) – Junior Jeff Vautrin (Chicopee, Mass.) earned a spot on the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) 2015 Division III Men's Volleyball All-Star Second Team as announced on Tuesday afternoon. Vautrin serves as the lone Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) representative after a stellar 2015 season.
Vautrin steered the Lasers' to their best record in the history of the men's volleyball program (24-9) and takes ECAC All-Star honors for the first time since the programs' beginning.
Vautrin led the GNAC in kills this season with 374 total, ranking third among stat leaders in kills per set average with 3.74. Vautrin also contributed with 41 service aces and 165 digs en route to leading the Lasers to their first-ever GNAC Championship, as they defeated seven-time reigning champion Rivier University.
In a season-beginning tournament in January at JWU, Vautrin earned Tournament Most Valuable Player, where he then continued to rack up conference honors. Vautrin is a two-time GNAC Offensive Player of the Week, and also earned Defensive Player of the Week to account for his conference recognitions this season. After a 3-2 triumph over the Raiders for the GNAC title, Vautrin was placed on the All-Conference First Team, owning a .312 hitting percentage.
