Men's Volleyball Travels to Baruch for NCAA Tournament Opener

NEWTON, Mass. (4/13/15) – The Lasell College men's volleyball team has been selected to take on Baruch College on Saturday, April 18 for the opening round of the NCAA Division III men's volleyball tournament.

The Lasers defeated seven-time reigning champion Rivier University this past weekend, 3-2, to secure a first-ever conference title to go along with an NCAA Tournament appearance.

The Lasers currently own a .276 hitting percentage with an averaged 12.35 kills per set. Lasell was awarded with two GNAC All-Conference honors, as junior Jeff Vautrin (Chicopee, Mass.) was placed on the First Team and senior Dan Raffol (Natick, Mass.) was named to the Second Team. Vautrin leads all players in the GNAC in total kills with 360, while Raffol sits just below at 317.

Baruch College, who will be playing in their fourth straight NCAA tournament, finished at 24-9 this season, claiming the CUNY Athletic Conference title against Hunter College, 3-2.
