Men's Volleyball Swept at Rivier in GNAC Tri-Match

Nashua, N.H. (3/29/14) – The Lasell College men's volleyball team dropped a pair of Great Northeast Athletic Conference matches, 3-0 to Rivier and 3-1 to Johnson and Wales on Saturday afternoon. The Lasers saw their record fall to 16-9 on the season and 5-7 in GNAC matches.

Johnson and Wales 3 – Lasell 1

The Lasers fell in four sets, dropping the opener 25-15, evening the match at 1-1 by taking the second set 25-22 before falling 25-19 and 25-20 to drop the match, 3-1. Jeff Vautrin (Chicopee, Mass.) and Ryan Jackson (Massilon, Ohio) tallied 11 and 10 kills respectively while Dan Raffol (Natick, Mass.) finished with a team-high 12 digs and Matt Dugan (New Lenox, Ill.) added 10 digs. Andrew Glenn (Westport, Conn.) tallied 29 assists for Lasell who committed 30 attacking errors in the match.

Rivier 3 – Lasell 0

Lasell fell in three sets to Rivier for the second time this season, losing 25-21, 25-11 and 25-19 to the nationally ranked Raiders. Matthew Dionne (Danville, N.H.) and Anthony Allen (Grafton, Mass.) recorded five kills apiece to pace the Lasers, as Lasell was unable to withstand the Rivier attack which hit .397 in the match.

Lasell will look to snap their four match losing streak when they host Wentworth on Tuesday April 1st at 7:00 p.m.
