Men's Volleyball Wins All Four Matches at York College Invitational

YORK, N.Y. (3/8/14) - The Lasell College men's volleyball team finished in second place at the York College Invitational, claiming four victories between Friday and Saturday and losing out on the Classic Title to Eastern Mennonite University on tie-breakers.

The Lasers opened play on Friday eveing with a 3-0 victory over NYU-Poly by scores of 25-15, 25-21, 25-14 and then captured a narrow 3-2 match against New Jersey City University dropping the first and fourth sets, 20-25, 25-18, 29-27, 22-25, 15-10.

Saturday saw Lasell square-off with Marymount University of Virginia who they dispatched in straight sets, 25-23, 25-13, 25-18 before they tangled with the hosts from York. Lasell picked up the first two sets by scores of 25-18 and 25-19 before dropping the next two sets, 11-25 and 23-25. Lasell came out with a 15-11 victory in the fifth set to take the match.

The Lasers improved to 14-4 on the season and ran their winning streak to eight straight matches following their weekend success and they will resume their season on Thursday March 13th when they visit GNAC foe Emerson College at 7:00 p.m.
