Men's Volleyball Swept in GNAC Tri-Match

Providence, R.I. (03/23/13) - The Lasell College men's volleyball team was swept on Saturday afternoon in their Great Northeast Athletic Conference tri-match, falling 3-2 to Johnson and Wales and 3-0 to Emmanuel. The Lasers are now 10-9 on the season and are 3-3 in GNAC play.

Lasell fell in heartbreaking fashion in the opening match of the day, losing a five-set affair against the Wildcats by scores of 27-25, 25-23, 23-25, 23-25, and 11-15. Dan Raffol (Natick, Mass.) paced the Lasell attack with 18 kills and Drew Caruso (Haverhill, Mass.) joined him in double figure kills with 10. Ryan Jackson (Massilon, Ohio) totaled 27 assists and six kills and Matt Dugan (New Lenox, Ill.) added 25 assists for the Lasers. 

Lasell vs. Emmanuel

The Lasers were unable to bounce back from their tough opening loss, falling to Emmanuel in three sets, 27-25, 25-16 and 25-19. Raffol was again the leading offensive weapon for Lasell with a team-high 11 kills, Anthony Allen (Grafton, Mass.) added five kills, and Julius Rosario (Stoughton, Mass.) and Drew Caruso each finished with four kills. 

Lasell will look to get back on track on Tuesday Mar. 26th when they visit Mount Ida College at 6:00 p.m. and then the Lasers will travel to Emerson on Mar. 30th for a tri-match with Emerson and Wentworth.
