Men's Volleyball Stopped by Rivier

Nashua, N.H. (02/28/13) - The Lasell College men's volleyball team fell in three sets at Rivier University in their Great Northeast Athetic Conference opener. The loss dropped the Lasers back to .500 on the year at 5-5, while leaving them 0-1 in league play. Rivier improved to 4-0 in GNAC contests and 9-7 overall with the victory.

Dan Raffol (Natick, Mass.) paced the Lasell effort with nine kills, while Alex Mill (Danville, N.H.) chipped in with six kills. Chris Markunson and Aaron Almario each tallied double figure kills for the Raiders, finishing with 13 and 11 kills respectively. 

The Raiders used a hyper-efficient offensive attack, hitting .596 on the night while amassing 36 kills, compared to a .116 hitting percentage for Lasell who tallied 28 kills in three sets. Rivier knocked off the visiting Lasers, 25-22, 25-17 and 25-8 to collect the three set victory. 

Lasell will face-off against Mount Ida on March 5th at 7:00 p.m. when the Mustangs will visit the Lasell Athletic Center.
