Lasers Cruise Past Mustangs

The Lasers of Lasell College took down the Mustangs of Mount Ida College on Tuesday evening in GNAC men's volleyball action.  In just three quick sets, the Lasers improved their overall match record to 8-6, beating the Mustangs by scores of 30-19, 30-12, 30-19.

 

Lasell was lead by the outside hitting of Mike Harrington (Billerica, Mass.) and Dustin Foster (Ashford, Conn.).  Both Harrington and Foster hit a .500 clip, Harrington dropping in eight kills, Foster adding seven into the mix for the Lasers.

 

The Lasers also dominated the middle with each of their middle hitters clocking six kills on the night.  Sophomore Dan Rogers (Belchertown, Mass.) and freshman Trevor Foster (Ashford, Conn.) hit impressive 71.4% and 62.5% respectively, with only one hitting error a piece.

 

Also adding to the Lasers domination at neighboring Mount Ida were senior outside hitter Dave Rogers (Belchertown, Mass.), freshman setter Brendan McGourn (Southington, Conn.), and senior defensive specialist Tyler Hammond (Hadley, Mass.).  Dave Rogers  hit a .800 clip on 4 for 5 hitting, while McGourn set up 40 assists in the match.  Hammond had  a team high ten digs in junior outside hitter Andy Cass (Wakefield, Mass.) added 7 more digs.

 

The Lasers next match is a tri-match at Emmanuel College with Endicott College on Saturday, February 21st.  Match times are 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.
