For the second time this season, the Lasers overcame the Falcons of Albertus Magnus College with a 3-0 sweep in GNAC men's volleyball action. Lasell took the victory easily by scores of 30-12, 30-7, and 30-8 over the first year program, advancing their record to 14-7.
Lasell's sophomore middle hitter Dan Rogers (Belchertown, Mass.) was a threat all night accumulating 10 kills in three sets while hitting a .556 clip on no errors. Senior outside Dave Rogers (Belchertown, Mass.) tallied nine kills and two blocks for the Lasers and sophomore Matt Roberts (Agawam, Mass.) put down an additional 8 kills on the outside for the Lasers.
Mike Harrington (Billerica, Mass.) matched six kills with six digs over the course of the match and Tyler Hammond (Hadley, Mass.) notched 6 kills, hitting 100%, and added five digs on defense. Freshman middle Trevor Foster (Ashford, Conn.) had another big night at the net with 4 blocks and five kills. Foster added 3 services aces for Lasell as well.
Setters Brendan McGourn (Southington, Conn.) and Gary Gay (Belchertown, Mass.) dished out 33 assists to their attackers, who hit 65.6% on the night as a team. McGourn picked up 9 digs, and Gay added 3 digs and 3 aces to the mix.
The Lasers face the Rivier College Raiders on Thursday, March 5th. The Raiders stand at first in the league currently.
