MLAX: Lasers Fall to Panthers 16-7 on Road

Plymouth, NH - The Lasell University men's lacrosse team played a non-conference road match on Wednesday against the Panthers of Plymouth State.

The Lasers started off the game with the opening goal as Nate Campbell found the back of the net on his first shot. Unfortunately for the Lasers, this lead was short-lived as the Panthers notched a goal thirty seconds later which started a 6-goal streak that lasted until the final minute of the first quarter. Lasers Jason Martin would put an end to the run, scoring with 0:58 seconds left in the period to make it 6-2 going into the second. In the second quarter, Ryan Stone got it going for the Lasers as he found two goals assisted by Jason Martin and Jack Condon to bring it to within 3, 7-4. Plymouth State then went on another run scoring the final four goals of the half and taking an 11-4 halftime advantage.

The scoring then came to a slow in the third as neither team scored until the 2:13 mark where Plymouth State added one more score. The Lasers did their best in the final quarter to try and make things interesting with goals from Colin LeBaron, Carson Tucker, and Austin Wenzel but the comeback efforts fell short as they would fall in a final score of 16-7.

Ryan Stone led the Lasers with his 2 goals and Carson Tucker added 2 assists to go along with his score. Bubba Baumeister was effective on the ground and turnover game as he supplied five caused turnovers and three ground balls for the Lasers.

Up Next - The Lasers will be back at home on Saturday and look to rebound against conference foe Albertus Magnus.
