MLAX: Maine Maritime Overpowers Lasell 12-3

CASTINE, ME — The Lasell University men's lacrosse team fell to Maine Maritime Academy on Saturday afternoon, suffering a tough 12-3 defeat in a non-conference matchup. The Mariners improved to 2-2 on the season, while Lasell dropped to 1-2.

Maine Maritime took control early, dominating possession and building a commanding 4-0 lead by the end of the first quarter. Ryan Dunstan was a major force in the first half, tallying 3 goals and 1 assist to lead the charge for the Mariners. By the break, Maine Maritime had extended their lead to 6-0, with goals from Tobey Lappin, Ryker Spear, and Sam Nichol adding to the scoreline.

Lasell's offense struggled to find rhythm through the first half, failing to convert on opportunities, but managed to break the shutout in the third quarter. Jason Martin got the Lasers on the board with a goal at the 11:25 mark, assisted by Ryan Stone. Jack Condon followed with another goal for Lasell, cutting the Maine Maritime lead to 7-2 with just over three minutes left in the third quarter.

Maine Maritime responded in the fourth, extending their lead with additional goals from Ryan Dunstan, Brendan Reddington, Tobey Lappin, and Ryker Spear. Lasell's Ryan Stone found the back of the net with under a minute remaining, but it wasn't enough to overcome Maine Maritime's overwhelming offensive performance.
