MLax: Lasers Secure 3 Seed with 14-7 Win Over Wildcats

Providence, RI - The Lasers headed to JWU this evening for their last match of regular season play. The Lasers clinched the three seed with a convincing 14-7 win over the Wildcats.

Lasell hit the field with a strong showing right out of the gate, putting up five unanswered goals on the Wildcats. JWU responded with a singular goal of their own, which was quickly remedied with a goal from Colin LeBaron. The Wildcats tacked two more on with just under a minute to go in the first quarter.

JWU got two goals on the board in the first two minutes of the second period. The Wildcat defense was able to keep the Lasers out for majority of the quarter, but Patrick Mulhern and Will McCarthy were each able to fire one in to bring the Lasers back to a three-goal lead.

The Lasers outscored the Wildcats 3-1 in the third quarter, extending their lead to 11-6 heading into the final quarter.

The fourth quarter went much like the third, with Lasell putting two goals on the board at the 8 minute mark. The Wildcats tacked one more on the board but couldn't make the offensive comeback they would be hoping for.

LeBaron lead the Lasers offense with four goals. Michael Catalano had 12 saves in the net for his 9th win of the season.

Up Next: The Lasers (3) will head to Norwich University (2) in the first game of post-season play on Saturday, April 27th. The Lasers will be looking to take home their first win on Cadet soil since 2019.
