MLax: Lasers Overtake Blazers in 17-6 Win

Newton, MA - Lasell hosted the Blazers of Elms College in a GNAC matchup this afternoon, picking up a convincing 17-6 win. 

Lasell got on the board early, with an unassisted goal from Landon Reyes. The Blazers answered with a goal of their own, tying things up with 10 minutes to go in the first. The next few minutes went scoreless on both ends, until Lasell's Colin LeBaron netted one, assisted by Landon Reyes. Just thirty-seconds later Patrick Mulhern sent one to the back of the net, giving Lasell a 3-1 lead heading into the second. 

Lasell's defense completely shut out the Blazers over the entire second quarter. However, offensively they fired off three more goals giving them a 6-1 lead heading into the second half of the game. 

The third quarter saw the most offensive action of the entire game, with 10 total goals. LeBaron opened up the quarter with a goal, assisted by Mulhern. Followed with a powerplay goal scored by Anthony DeRosa, assisted by Jason Martin. Elms answered with two goals of their own, which the Lasers responded to immediately. Each team scored two more goals in the quarter, but Lasell headed into the fourth with a 12-5 lead. 

Lasell outscored Elms 5-1 in the fourth, finalizing another GNAC win. 

Mulhern lead the Lasers offensively with three goals and three assists. Michael Catalano had three saves on the day. 

Up Next: The Lasers will hit the road for their final regular season matchup this Wednesday, against the Wildcats of JWU.
