LASELL TRIPS NORWICH, 12-5

Northfield, VT-  Lasell College out produced the Norwich Cadets in every statistical category in a cold, rainy Saturday afternoon men's lacrosse game which fell in favor of the Lasers 12-5.  The Pilgrim League contest ended with the Lasers evening out in the conference 2-2, while the Cadets remain winless at 0-3.

 

The Lasers came out to a 6-0 start before the Cadets got themselves on the board.  Adam Foss (Billerica, Mass.) began by winning the opening face off, then scoring just two and a half minutes in as Brandon Keith (Marston Mills, Mass.) set him up in front of the net.

 

Keith then scored the next goal followed by two connections by Dave Buhloes (Billerica, Mass.) to close the first period with a 4-0 lead.

 

Buhloes assisted on the next Laser mark at 13:54 in the second, which was scored by Foss once again for his second goal of the day. Sean Speciale (Hillsborough, NJ) attacked for the sixth Laser goal.

 

The Cadets finally tallied their first points at 9:17 in the second as Tyler Woods found the net from Brandon Rankie.  Buhloes and Keith each fired in another shot for Lasell before the halftime break.

 

Norwich scored twice to begin the third period, but the Lasers continued to widen the gap with four more goals, two by Keith, and one apiece from Ryan Koerner (Floral Park, NY) and Zach Wielgoszinski (Amherst, NH) who scored with just two seconds remaining in the contest.

 

Foss ended the day with an impressive line, scoring two goals, assisting another, and winning 11-17 faceoffs.  Foss also collected 11 ground balls.

 

Keith ended with a game-best five points, on four goals and one assist, and Buhloes was close behind with three goals and an assist.

 

Lasell's Mike Kelliher (Weymouth, Mass.) collected 7 saves in net for the victors.

 

The Lasers are back in action on Tuesday, April 14th when they travel to Connecticut College where they'll faceoff with the Camels at 4:00 p.m.
