Matthew Reid was named Head Coach of the Lasell University Women’s Basketball program in 2025, bringing with him nearly two decades of coaching experience and a proven track record of developing student-athletes on and off the court.

Prior to joining Lasell, Reid spent five years as the Associate Head Coach at the University of New England (UNE), where he played a key role in building a competitive NCAA Division III program. His leadership at UNE was marked by a strong emphasis on player development, game preparation, and fostering a winning team culture.

Reid’s coaching career spans collegiate, high school, and AAU basketball, including 13 years of experience coaching both boys' and girls' varsity teams at Noble High School and Cape Elizabeth High School. He also worked with elite youth athletes as part of the Maine Firecrackers 17U AAU program, further showcasing his commitment to mentoring players at every level of the game.

Known for his player-first approach, Reid combines a deep understanding of the game with a passion for teaching, communication, and holistic athlete development. He holds a Master's degree in Teaching and Learning from the University of Southern Maine and is also a certified personal trainer, allowing him to bring a well-rounded, wellness-based philosophy to coaching.
