UNION, NJ- The Lasers earned two non-conference wins on the road against Kean University and Widener University on Saturday, Oct. 19.
Lasell vs. Kean
Lasell took their first win in a tight five-set matchup against Kean. The Cougars took the lead early winning the first set 25-15, but the Lasers would answer winning the following two sets 25-16 and 25-17.
Kean responded, winning the fourth set 25-21, but a 16-14 victory in the fifth solidified the match for the Lasers 3-2.
McKenna McCool lead the Lasers with a whopping 20 kills, followed by Tori Scambray who tallied 18. Sydney Katz collected 39 assists while Maddie Caro finished with 26 digs.
Lasell vs. Widener
The Lasers earned their second win of the day in a four-set matchup against Widener.
The Pride would take the first set after coming back from a five-point deficit to earn the win 25-23.
The Lasers regained control, winning the remaining three sets 25-14, 25-17, and 25-17 for a 3-1 victory on the match.
McCool, Eliana Baran, and Morgan Bogli finished with 10 kills a piece, while Katz finished with 22 assists and Caro another 26 digs.
Up Next: The Lasers will face their next opponent at home on Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 7:00pm against Mitchell College.
