Dartmouth, MA- The Lasers were on the road this weekend, heading to UMass Dartmouth for a non-conference tri-match. Lasell went 1-1 on the trip, dropping to the Corsairs and picking up a win against the Lions.
Lasell vs. Emerson:
The Lasers started strong with several key plays, including a service ace by Sydney Katz and a series of kills by McKenna McCool and Madalyn Scully. Lasell eventually prevails with a final score of 25-19.
Emerson gained some momentum in the second set, capitalizing on Lasell errors. The Lions took the second set and evened out the score.
The two teams battled it out over the next two sets, each taking one and forcing a deciding fifth set. It was a tight matchup but the Lasers pulled out a 15-12 win.
McCool lead the Lasers offense with 19 kills, while Sydney Katz put up 28 assists and Maddie Caro tallied 17 digs.
Lasell vs. UMass Dartmouth
The Corsairs took the early advantage, winning the first two sets in close contests: 27-25 in the first set and 25-19 in the second set. Despite the early setbacks, the Lasers rallied in the third set, securing a 25-21 win and pushing the match to a decisive fourth set.
In the final set, the Corsairs maintained their composure and led throughout, ultimately clinching the match with a 25-19 victory in the fourth set.
Eliana Baran lead the offense with nine kills, McCool and Emily VanHouten each contributed eight on the match. Trinity Silva racked up 22 assists, while Caro put up 18 digs.
