WVB: Lasers Climb to 4-1

Newton, MA- The Lasers hosted Gordon College and Clark for a tri-match this weekend, picking up two wins on the day and climbing to 4-1 on the season. 

Lasell vs. Gordon:

The Lasers took an early two-point lead in the first few minutes of the match, with a quick response from the Fighting Scots. The two teams continued to battle in a tight matchup, leading to a 25-18 Lasell domination to end the set.

Lasell continued to lead the charge in the second set with an even closer margin. Late into the second, five unanswered points by the Lasers would give them the advantage for a 25-23 lead heading into their final set.

In their final victory, the Lasers took a 25-20 victory in another close set with the Fighting Scots.

While marking the Lasers' third win of the season, the game also put junior Sydney Katz at her 1000th career assist.

Lasell vs. Clark:

The Lasers came out strong against Clark University with a 25-14 victory in the first set. Clark came back setting the tone in the second set with a back-and-forth matchup, ultimately taking a 26-24 win over Lasell.

Lasell took back control in their last two sets, winning the third 25-20 and the fourth 25-14 for a 3-1 victory over Clark.

Senior McKenne McCool led the Lasers in kills with 18, while junior Sydney Katz led the team with 22 assists.
