WVB: Lasers to take on Johns Hopkins in NCAA Tournament First Round

Baltimore, MD - After winning the GNAC championship last Saturday, the Lasell Women's Volleyball team clinched a spot in the DIII NCAA Tournament. On Tuesday they found out their fate, and will take on Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, Maryland on Thursday at 7pm.

The Blue Jays are a battle tested team that went 25-4 on the season, including a 3-2 record against ranked teams. They are led by Centennial Conference Player of the Year Simrin Carlsen. She ranks in the top eight in the country in both kills (4.58) and points (5.20) per set. The Blue Jays also had three other all-conference honorees in Helena Swaak, Simone Adam, and Chidinma Onukwugha.

The Lasers have had a historic season, winning a program record 27 matches, including a record 16 wins in a row, the second longest in school history by any program. Of their four losses, two of them came against Simmons and Regis, both of which the Lasers would get revenge on by defeating them in the GNAC tournament.

The Lasers are led by a pair of GNAC first team all-conference selections in McKenna McCool and Juliana Medini, and a third team selection Sydney Katz.
