Newton, MA - Despite a scare in the first set, the Lasell Women's Volleyball team was able to bring home their 16th straight game of the season, defeating Westfield State 3-1 by a final score of 25-27, 25-18, 25-16, 25-22. This is the second time this season the Lasers have defeated the Owls 3-1. The Lasers are now 18-1 on the season, while the Owls are 4-15. The Lasers continue to inch closer and closer to the school record for consecutive wins by any program, which is 18 by the 2016 women's soccer team.

The Lasers were unusually sloppy in the first set, hitting at a .075 percentage, and it ultimately cost them the set. But they were back to their normal selves in the second and third set, dominating the action. Then, despite trailing for most of the fourth set, the Lasers were able to score five of the last six points, to win the match.

It was the usual suspects for the Lasers, as McKenna McCool led the way with 12 kills, followed by Morgan Bogli and Juliana Medini each with nine. Setting up a majority of those kills was Sydney Katz, as she had 24 set assists. Defensively, Maddie Caro had 14 digs, followed by Camila Lopez who had nine. A big difference for the Lasers was the serving game, as the had 17 aces, led by McCool's six.

Up Next - The Lasers will begin arguably the hardest three game stretch of the season, as they host JWU on Wednesday at 7pm, before heading to Simmons for a tri-match that also includes Clark on Saturday.
