WVB: Lasers Extend Winning Streak to Eight Straight With Tri-Match Sweep

Newton, MA - The Lasell Lasers Women's Volleyball team continued their winning ways, sweeping both Elms and Colby-Sawyer on Saturday. They beat Elms 25-14, 25-13, 25-7 and Colby-Sawyer 25-15, 25-15, 25-11. This moves the Lasers to 10-1 on the season, the best start in school history, and extends their win streak to eight. That is the second longest winning streak in school history, trailing a nine game winning streak by the 2005 team

Match One vs Elms

The Lasers were led by Victoria Pariseault's eight kills. Also having a good match attacking was McKenna McCool (7), Juliana Medini (6), and Emily Van Houten (5). Both Sydney Katz and Saige Cambonga-Meyers were in the middle of those kills with 11 and eight set assists each. Katz also led the team with seven digs, while Maddie Caro and Cambonga -Meyers each had six.

Match Two vs Colby-Sawyer

It was another quick match in the Lasers' second match of the day. It was McCool leading the way this match with eight kills. Following behind her was VanHouten (5) and Pariseault (5). In this match Cambonga-Meyers did all the setting, racking up 22 set assists. Two Lasers finished with double-digit digs in Caro (13) and VanHouten (10). Madalyn Scully finished with six total blocks, three solo and three assisted.

Up Next - The Lasers will look to tie the program record for a winning streak on Thursday when they host Western New England, a team they beat 3-1 earlier in the season. That match will start at 7pm.
