Newton, Mass. - The #3 seed Lasell Women's Volleyball team is gearing up for a playoff matchup Tuesday night against the #6 seed Blazers of Elms College in the Athletic Center at 7:00 PM.
The Lasers finished their regular season in a doubleheader split at the Athletic Center Saturday afternoon where they defeated Dean and fell to Rivier. Meanwhile, the Blazers split in a doubleheader as well in Chicopee, Mass. defeating Colby-Sawyer and falling to Fisher. Lasell comes into Tuesday night with a 18-13 overall record and a 10-3 GNAC record placing them with the 3rd seed. Elms is 12-16 overall and with a 8-5 GNAC record giving them the 6th seed. The two programs met earlier October 1st in which the Lasers swept the Blazers 3-0. This is the first encounter in conference postseason play between the two programs.
Lasell is looking for their first ever GNAC championship as well as their first NCAA tournament berth in program history and Elms is looking for their first GNAC championship as they were formerly a member of the NECC (New England Collegiate Conference) and are looking for their first NCAA tournament berth since 2017.
