WVB: Lasers sweep NEC to extend winning streak to five

Newton, Mass. - The Lasell Women's Volleyball team currently hold a five-match winning streak after defeating the Pilgrims of New England College in a sweep tonight in the Athletic Center.

How it happened: Both teams started off the first set battling back and forth as that set could've went to either team. It was ultimately the Lasers who escaped with the first set despite the Pilgrims cutting the deficit to 1 towards the end of the set. The second set was yet another battle as both teams looked to take set #2. Lasell would fight off any chances of letting the set slip away from them as they took set #2 by a score of 25-23. The last set was mainly controlled by the Lasers as they led for a majority of the set and would go on to sweep New England College in 3 sets to earn their 5th match victory in a row.

Key stats:

The Lasers move to 15-11 overall on the year while the Pilgrims fall to 9-15. Lasell is back in action Saturday afternoon when they travel to Providence, Rhode Island to face host Johnson & Wales and Albertus Magnus.
