With the first set tied at four, a Laser error followed by an ace and a kill by the Corsairs sparked a 10-3 run by the hosts to bring the lead to 14-7. UMass Dartmouth continued to roll and eventually made it 22-11. Back-to-back kills by Marley Alexander and Devon Laing followed by an ace from Kate Wade finished off the first set.

In set two, the Lasers jumped ahead to an early 7-5 advantage.  UMass Dartmouth then fought back to even the score at 10. Late in the set, Lasell went on an 10-4 run to take a 23-19 lead and timely kills by UMASS Dartmouth tied the score at 25, but two kills by Scambray evened the match at one.

With the Corsairs behind 17-16, Laing spiked the ball to knot the score in the third set. Lasell then went ahead, 18-17, but an 8-4 UMass Dartmouth run propelled the Corsairs to a 2-1 match lead.

The fourth set went back-and-forth until the score was even at 13. A kill by Wade then jumpstarted a 12-7 run that put the match out of reach for the Lasers.

Next up, the Lasers will travel to Harford, CT on Saturday for their first two conference matches of the year against Anna Maria and USJ.
