WINTHROP, Mass. - The Lasell University women's volleyball team earned the fourth seed out of 14 teams in the GNAC Preseason poll Wednesday, as the Lasers finished last season with a 7-6 mark in the conference.

Rivier (189 points, 7 first-place votes), Johnson & Wales (181, 4) and Simmons (168, 3) placed first, second and third, respectively, in the rankings. Lasell compiled 147 points, finishing 13 ahead of fifth-place Regis.

The Lasers won six straight matches last season from Oct. 2-9, with four being in the GNAC. The surge was a pivotal reason behind the unit qualifying for the conference playoffs as the seventh seed.

Lasell's 2022 journey will begin on Sept. 2 with a 5 p.m. match against Oglethorpe at the Gordon Tournament in Wenham, Massachusetts. The team's home opener will take place on Sept. 6 at 7 p.m. against Wentworth in the Athletic Center. The Lasers start GNAC competition with a 1 p.m. match against Anna Maria on Sept. 24 at the University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford, Connecticut.
