Women's Volleyball Edged Out by Lancers, 3-2 in Non-Conference Match

Worcester, Mass. - The Lasell College women's volleyball team dropped a hard-fought match, 3-2 at Worcester State University on Tuesday night. Lasell lost the first two sets 25-22 and 25-17, before rallying back to take the next two sets by scores of 25-23 and 25-21. The Lancers captured the fifth set 15-12 to earn the victory. Lasell dropped to 5-17 overall with the loss, but remain 5-3 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference play, while Worcester State improved to 10-8 on the season.

Alexis Chappell (Springfield, Mass.) finished with 13 kills and 28 digs for Lasell, and was joined in double digit kills by Sharisse Scott-Rawlins (Brockton, Mass.) who nothced a career-high 11 kills and Sara Biondo (Coventry, R.I.) chipped in with 10 on the night. Alyssa Nahigian (Coventry, R.I.) finished with 34 assists on the night, while Anna Feeter (Peterborough, N.H.) had a superb all-around match with eight kills, 15 digs, and three aces.

Becky Lebel (Millbury, Mass.), Ali Remiglio (Tewksbury, Mass.), and Alyssa Jasper (Rockland, Mass.) paced the Worcester State attack with 14, 11 and nine kills respectively. Amanda Lewis (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) dished out 38 assists while Kaylee Leduc (Swansea, Mass.) posted a match-high 42 digs for the Lancers.

The Lancers are back on the court when they travel to Becker College on Thursday October 11th, while Lasell will visit Salve Regina for a non-conference match on Thursday the 11th at 7 p.m.
