Lasers Go 1-1 Over the Weekend

BOSTON, MA—Lasell College women's volleyball defeated Albertus Magnus, 3-1, and fell to Emerson College by the same score on Saturday at a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) trimatch hosted by the Lions.

 

The Lasers are now 13-17 this year and 5-5 in conference play.

 

Danielle Drapeau (Biddeford, ME) and Meghan Crozier (Ballston Spa, NY) put up great numbers against Emerson, each recording a double-double. Drapeau put down 19 kills and collected12 digs while Crozier dished out 39 assists and picked up 11 digs.  Marisa Visocchi (Whitman, MA) and Jenna Lynn Geary (Marion, MA) combined for 30 digs, with Geary producing a team-best 18 in the contest.

 

Stella Edwards (Quincy, MA) added 10 kills in the match and Alexis Chappell (Springfield, MA) notched seven. 

 

The Lasers dropped the match with Emerson, 25-17, 25-16, 26-24, 25-14.

 

Against the Falcons, Drapeau and Edwards led the offense with nine kills and Chappell followed with eight.  Drapeau also recorded 10 digs.  Crozier put up 27 assists and Visocchi had a team-high 14 digs.  Kaleigh Tiano (Manassas, VA) and Sara Biondo (Coventry, RI) each produced three aces in the match.

 

Lasell won by scores of 25-15, 25-22, 17-25, and 25-9.

 

The Lasers return home on Tuesday, October 25th for a non-conference match against Brandeis at 7:00 PM in the Athletic Center.
